Maremma SheepDog Breeders in Virginia
Our Maremmas
We breed, raise and sell maremma sheepdogs (livestock guard dogs) at our farm in Goode, Virginia. We have maremmas for sale and offer maremma stud services. Maremmas are originally from Maremma in Tuscany, Italy, bred for centuries to guard herds of sheep. These Italian dogs continue to be suitable for guarding livestock from predators such as bears, mountain lions, coyotes and other dogs. We use them to guard our alpaca herd. Maremmas can also be good for guarding sheep, llamas, goats and other herd animals and livestock. Maremmas are sometimes referred to as livestock guard dogs (or LGD's). They are intelligent and independent-minded and not intended for herding, but excellent at guarding and will naturally stay close to their herd. All of our maremma livestock guard dogs are registered with the Maremma Sheepdog Club of America. We have personally placed dogs from Chicago to Arizona to Puerto Rico. We will be taking reservations for maremma puppies; if you are interested, please contact us. All dogs are available to see at the farm or we can send you photos or videos.
